According to TMZ.com, Phillip Phillips champ of American Idol Season 11 underwent a 6 1/2-hour surgery in Los Angeles Wednesday to remove kidney stones. "were so huge there was no chance he could’ve passed them on his own." TMZ reported.
“The surgery went well,” says a source close to the show. “He’s doing well and looking forward to starting the Idol tour in July.”
Citing an unnamed tour rep, the site reported that Phillips will be onstage on 6th July in Detroit when American Idols Live kicks off.
Last week, Phillip forced to reschedule a planned kidney operation after falling ill. He is suffering from a severe sinus infection that cause burning fever.
The 16-year-old Jessica Sanchez was defeated by Phillips to become the American idol season 11th champ.
